| Do I need to apply for planning permission if I want to extend my property or add a swimming pool? |

For any work undertaken to the property, building permission is required.
For any major building work you need a licencia de obra mayor and for small alterations you need a licencia de obra menor.

| How do I become a resident? |
| |
If you intend to live permanently or to spend more than 6 months each year in Spain you are expected to apply for residencia. We can assist you in the application for this.

| How do I get medical cover here? |
| |
When visiting any EU country you are entitled to free medical cover providing you have the form E111 for all people travelling. If you are over UK retirement age and living permanently in Spain, you and your dependants are entitled to receive medical care in Spain. You will require form E121 before you leave the UK.
If you are working and paying social security contributions in Spain, you and your dependants will be entitled to medical care. |
